Nitrous Gas Sedation

Nitrous Oxide (N2O-02), or “laughing gas” as it is better known, is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas commonly used within the dentistry industry to sedate patients while conducting uncomfortable or invasive procedures.

Nitrous Oxide contains approximately 70% oxygen and 30% nitrous oxide that is inhaled in moderation by the patient to eliminate pain while inducing a calming effect. This is considered a light or conscious sedation. Patients given nitrous oxide are awake during the procedure and are able to respond. It only takes about 20 seconds to administer, and is perfectly safe to use when administered by an expert.
